My work in the Flood and Cyclone Appeal for my fraternal organisation had been taking up a great deal of my time, and updating both my personal and business blogs were "on the list" but there were higher priorities.
Expecting him to accept what I considered to be a very reasonable proposition, you can imagine my surprise at his reaction.
He told me that while I was doing important work that was assisting people whose lives had been devastated by these awful natural disasters, I could have taken a few minutes to pen an entry or two; that I had an obligation to those people who visited my website and read my blog to demonstrate that I cared. To not do so sent a message that I had lost interest.
Well, I was stunned. It also illustrated to me just how values driven and caring this generation is.
But he's right and I apologise. I'll stay on top it from now on. The funny thing is that I saw, heard and experienced many things over the summer that I thought at the time would make good blog entries. I have notes from these incidents and will happily share with you over the coming weeks.
